LATEST COLLECTION
BEAUTY DISTURBED
This new collection explores perceptions of beauty in art through colour, composition and intuitive response. It examines why certain colour combinations feel harmonious while others create tension, and how compositional choices can subtly influence whether a work feels balanced or unresolved. The work considers what determines taste in art, and whether our
responses are shaped by cultural conditioning or guided by instinct.
The artworks feature free-flowing forms,
layered patterns and carefully balanced proportions, alongside an abundance of
colour and metallic texture. Their surfaces shimmer with jewel-like intensity,
suggesting an immediate sense of visual richness and allure. By conventional
standards, these elements might be expected to read as “beautiful.”
Instead, the work deliberately disrupts
expectation. Unusual colour pairings, jagged, stone-like textures, dense patterning and excessive glitter are combined within compositions that feel unfamiliar and slightly jarring. The forms resist easy recognition, existing somewhere between organic and otherworldly. While each piece carries a degree of visual discomfort, it also exerts a magnetic pull.
This tension between unease and attraction
sits at the heart of the collection. The work asks whether beauty lies in harmony alone, or whether it can emerge through instinctive resonance — an innate desire to keep looking, even when something feels unresolved.
